Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to the Rescue - Again!!

Dr. Okonjo-Iweala

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the immediate past vice president and Corporate Secretary of the World Bank, has been called again as the Finance Minister and the head of the economic team to rescue Nigerian economy. This is, no doubt, a step in the right direction.

She has already hit the ground running, as she admonished Nigerian legislatures (National and State) during her confirmation hearing to reduce the 74% revenues expenditure on recurring programs so that more funds would be available for capital projects if the 2020 goal could be actualized.

Can she finally clean up the Nigerian politicians from the habitual problem of corruption? Time will tell.
